Meet the Governors
I am currently working in the financial services for a major bank. I had two daughters that attended Thorpe and I joined the Governing body to give something back to the school and the community. I want to be part of the team that takes Thorpe Primary School forward.
I worked in a secondary school for a number of years and having retired from that life, own and run an old fashioned sweet shop in Peterborough. Although my four children are grown up, I have a granddaughter who attends Thorpe. I want to support and help Thorpe Primary School strive for continued success.
I am the mother of a child currently in Year 3. I have been thoroughly impressed with the way Thorpe runs and am looking forward to being able to contribute to the continued success of the children attending at present and those who will in the future. I am passionate about education, particularly when it involves my own child and look forward to given back to the school and to help represent the parental view.
I have one daughter currently at Thorpe and 3 older daughters who also attended Thorpe. I am a part time Lecturer in ICT at Peterborough Regional College. I have close links with the school through my work with Thorpe Community Association.
I have lived and worked in Peterborough for over 20 years and currently I am working for LGSS Pensions Service (Cambridgeshire/Northamptonshire Pension Fund). I am also co-organiser of Annual Academic Award Ceremony which aims to celebrate and recognise academic achievement of youths in Peterborough. I am passionate about raising standards in the local schools.
I am a qualified Human Resource professional working in the construction industry with a wide variety of experience including education. I decided to become an Authority Governor as I wanted to add value within the local community and offer my expertise. I believe that it is important to ensure that our children's foundation is formed at this level to set them on the right paths for the future and I look forward to working with Kate and the Governors.
I am a qualified accountant and have worked predominantly in the education sector carrying out audits and providing advisory service through large organisations. I have a daughter and son who attend the school, and felt my skills and knowledge would benefit the school to help in its success. Am looking forward in helping driving the school forward for the benefit for its pupils and the local community.
